Officers responding to the armed robbery report at CVS on Easton Avenue were told by a store employee that an unknown male had wielded a firearm and demanded money around 11:15 p.m., Bethlehem Police said.
The worker handed over the money to the robber, who fled on foot in an unknown direction, according to police.
A short time after officers began investigating the crime scene, the Northampton County 911 center received a call from someone who provided their location and stated that they had just committed a robbery.
The 17-year-old suspect was located near the 2500 block of Nottingham Road and taken into custody, where he was found with the stolen cash and an airsoft pistol that “closely resembled an actual firearm” and was missing its orange safety tip, police said.
The teen was charged with robbery, simple assault, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property. He was being held at the Northampton County Juvenile Detention pending a court appearance.
